Let x be the number

Find 20% of the number:

20% of x = 0.2x

Form the equation:

When 20% of a number is added to 20 , the result is the number again

⇒ 0.2x + 20 = x

Solve x:

0.2x + 20 = x

x - 0.2x = 20

0.8x = 20

x = 20 ÷ 0.8 = 25

Answer: The number is 25
