When 3.00 mole of A and 1.00 mole of B are mixed
in a 1.00 litre vessel, the following reaction takes
place
A(g) + B(g) = 2C(g)
The equilibrium mixture contains 0.5 mole of C.
What is the value of equilibrium constant for the
reaction?
(1) 0.12
(2) 6
(3) 1.5
(4) None of these

Answer:

In the given question values are

volume=1L

so initial concentration of A=3mol/1L=3M

similarly for B=1M

A(g)+B(g)=2C(g)

3mol/L....1mol/L..0.....(initial)

But the given that mole of C=0.5 at equilibrium

So the equilibrium concentration will be 0.5/1L=0.5M=2x

so X=0.25M
