Let the number be x

First Case :

  • 3 times of the number = 3x
  • Now Adding 30 to 3 times of the number  ⇒ 3x + 30

Second Case :

  • 5 times of Number = 5x
  • 10 less than 5 times the number = 5x - 10

According to Question :

\implies \bold{5x - 10 = \bold{ 3x + 10}}

\implies \bold{5x - 3x = \bold{30 + 10}}

\implies \bold{2x = 40}

\implies \bold{ x = \frac{40}{2} }

x = 20 , Required number is 20 (Answer)

Answer:-

Let the number be x.

The question says, about the addition of 30 with three times the number.

So, 30 + 3x

Later, it says, the sum is 10 less than 5 times the number.

So, 5x - 10

Hence, 30 + 3x = 5x - 10

➜ 30 + 10 = 5x - 3x

➜ 40 = 2x

➜ x = 40/2

➜ x = 20
