Answer:

Here, The value of k is 12.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, As per our given question,

=P(x)=3x^3-8x^2+10x-k=0

And it is divided by, g(x)=x-2

So,=x-2=0

=x=2

By putting the value of x in p(x), we get,

=3×(2)^3-8×(2)^2+10×(2)-k=0

=3×8-8×4+20-k=0

=24-32+20-k=0

=44-32-k=0

=12-k=0

=(-k)=(-12)

=k=12 (As both sides are equal and have same sign of -)

So, Here, The value of k=12.

Thank you.

Solution:-

:- Given Equation

=> 3x³ - 8x² + 10x - k is divided by x - 2

=> Remainder = 18

:- Now take

=> x - 2 = 0

=> x = 2

:- Put the value of x on equation and the equation is equal to 18

=> f(2) = 3x³ - 8x² + 10x - k = 18

=> 3 × (2)³ - 8 × (2)² + 10 × 2 - k = 18

=> 3 × 8 - 8 × 4 + 20 - k = 18

=> 24 - 32 + 20 - k = 18

=> 44 - 32 - k = 18

=> 12 - k = 18

=> - k = 18 - 12

=> - k = 6

=> k = -6

:- Value of k is - 6
