Let the number is x.
according to question..

(3x+4)/(x+3) =2/5

by cross multiplication..
5(3x+4)=2(x+3)

or..
15x+20=2x +6
15x-2x=6-20
13x=-14
x=-14/13

 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

Let the number be x

STEP 1: Form the equation:

When 4 is added to the 3 times the number:

3x + 4

.

The result is divided by 3 more than the number:

(3x + 4) ÷ ( x + 3)

.

We get 2/5:

(3x + 4) ÷ ( x + 3) = 2/5

..............................................................................................

STEP 2: Solve x:

(3x + 4) ÷ ( x + 3) = 2/5

Combine into single fraction:

(3x + 4)/( x + 3) = 2/5

Cross multiply:

5(3x + 4) = 2(x + 3)

Distribute 5 and 2:

15x + 20 = 2x + 6

Subtract 2x from both sides:

13x + 20 = 6

Subtract 20 from both sides:

13x = -14

Divide both sides by 13:

x = -14/13

..............................................................................................

Answer: The number is -14/13

.............................................................................................

 \textbf {Cheers.}
