Volume will be same as 20 cc as NH3 is limiting ....HCl + NH3 = NH4Cl Which is totally balanced So HCl should also be 20cc ...HCl unreacted = 40-20 = 20 cc U can solve this by calculating moles also but this would only lead to complicated calculation

Answer: The correct answer is Option C.

Explanation:

The chemical equation for the reaction of hydrochloric acid and ammonia follows:

HCl+NH_3\rightarrow NH_4Cl

We are given:

Volume of HCl = 40 cc

Volume of ammonia = 20 cc

To calculate the total volume, we use Avogadro's law. This law relates the number of moles and volume at constant pressure and temperature.

V\propto n   (at constant pressure and temperature)

Total number of moles = Moles of hydrochloric acid + Moles of ammonia

Total number of volume = Volume of hydrochloric acid + Volume of ammonia = 40 cc + 20 cc = 60 cc

Hence, the correct answer is Option C.
