Answer:

let the fraction be x/y

now according to the question

x-5/y+5 =1/7 first equation

nowcross multiply

you get:7x-y-40=0

according to the question

x-3/y+3=1/3

now you cross multiply we get:

3x-y-12=0 this is the second equation

solve this two equation by elimination method we get: eliminate y in the equation we get: 7x=28

x=7

substitute the X value in in any of the equation to get the y value

the y value will be 9
