Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

5 is substracted from length and breadth of a rectangle then perimeter becomes 26.

To find:-

what the mathematical from above statement

Solution:-

Let the length of the rectangle be l units

Let the Breadth of the rectangle be b units

We know that Perimeter of a rectangle

= 2(l+b) units

If 5 is subtracted from both length and breadth of the rectangle then they becomes

Length of the new rectangle = (l-5) units

Breadth of the new rectangle =(b-5) units

Perimeter of the new rectangle

= 2[(l-5) + (b-5)] units

=> 2(l-5+b-5) units

=> 2(l+b-10) units

According to the given problem

Perimeter of the new rectangle = 26 units

=> 2(l+b-10) units = 26 units

=> 2(l+b-10) = 26

=> l+b-10 = 26/2

=> l+b-10 = 13

=> l+b = 13+10

=> l+b = 23

=> l+b -23=0

Answer:-

The required mathematical equation for the given problem is l+b -23=0

Used formula:-

  • Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b) units
  • l = length of the rectangle
  • b= breadth of the rectangle
