When 5 is subtracted from length and breadth of the rectangle, the perimeter becomes 26. What is the mathematical form of the statement ?

Let length be x and breadth be y

As said we shall subtract 5 from X and y

X-5 and y-5

Perimeter of rectangle = 2. Length + 2. Breadth

=2(x+5) +2(y+5)

= 2x+10+2y+10

=2(x+y+10)
