Let us say the number is x

  • Now 60% of that number is 0.6x as 60/100 x=0.6x

  • Now as per the question 0.6x-60 is equal to 60. So it comes down to solving a 1 dimensional polynomial equation..

0.6x-60 = 60

=> 0.6x=120

Multiplying by 10 on bothsides gives

=> 6x=1200

=> x = 200

So the number you are looking for is 200
