when 8 gram of H combine with 16 gram of o2 and forms H2o.

Now given 8 gram of hydrogen h2=8*2=16 gram of hydrogen. o2 is 16 gram. we want one oxygen 16/2=8 gram of oxygen. finally we substitute H2O =16*8=128 will be excess.
