When a 100 gm weight is hung from a rubber string the length of the string increased 60 cm when 120 gm is hung it becomes 70cm. what is the initial length of rubber string?

let initial legth of string be x

length of string after hanging 100g will be 60+x

length of string after hanging 120g will be 70+x
so, length of string after hanging 1 g will be 70+x/120
therefore, length of string after hanging 100g will be 70+x/120*100=135/3

x= 135/3-60
x= 1.66cm ans
