When a ball is thrown in upward direction, work is done by the force of gravity. When a ball comes down freely towards the earth, in this case too work is done by the force of gravity. What is the difference in the nature of work done in the two cases?

when the ball is thrown upward then force of gravity is negative to obstruct its velocity and when ball comes down freely the force of gravity is positive and increase the velocity of object towerds the earth...

Difference in both cases ===========
=======================================

When ball is thrown vertically upward the work done is negative and when ball becomes downward the work is positive because the is done against gravity.
