When a ball is thrown vertically upwards, its velocity goes on decreasing .what happens to its potential energy as its velocity becomes zero?

It's potential energy will be maximum because when it reaches at max. height it's velocity will be 0 and we know that

The energy possess by the body due to virtue of its shape or height is called potential energy.
