Hi Shivani, Yes, the KE of the ball thrown inside the bus is dependent on the speed of the moving bus. Consider the bus is moving with the speed 40 km/h. A boy playing outside the bus throws a ball towards another person sitting inside the bus with speed 50 km/h in the same direction as that of the bus. For an observer inside the bus the KE of the ball is � m (50)^2. For an observer who is static and outside the bus, the KE of the ball is � m (40 + 50)^2. Hence, the Kinetic energy of the ball is affected by motion of the bus.
