When a bar of iron 50.0cm long at 15 degree Celsius is heated in a furnace, it becomes 50.4cm . If the coefficient of linear expansion of iron is 1.1 X 10^-5 degree Celsius,find the temperature of furnace.

ΔL = α L ΔT
(50.4 - 50.0) = 1.1 * 10⁻⁵  * 50.0 * ΔT
   ΔT = 727.27 deg C

Temperature of furnace = 15 deg C + ΔT = 742.27 deg C
