avg speed = total dis/total time

so total distance = X

t1 = (1/3x)/1

t2=(1/3x)/2

t3=(1/3x)/3

because speeds are 1m/s, 2m/s and 3m/s resp.

therefore avg speed =

(t1+t2+t3)/x

=11/6m/s
