when a body hanging from a spring balance is immersed in water it floats just below the surface of water and shows 100g loss in its weight . What is the weight of the body in water ? , what is weight of body in air ? , what is upthrust on body ? , what is volume of body ? Give reason for answer . Given : acceleeation due to gravity at place is 10 m s -2 , volume of 1g of water = 1mL

radhikammc: what is the reason

Given:
mass of the body in air =m gms
mass of body in water=M=m-100
accleration=g=10m/s²
Weight of body in air=W=mg=10m----(1)
weight of the body in water=W1=Mg=(m-100)10
W1=10m-1000 -------(2)
Upthrust on object =W1-W
                                =10m-(10m-1000)
upthrust=10000 N
we know by Archimedes principle
,Upthrust =weight of water displaced
weight of water displaced= volume of the body.
Therefore, Upthrust=volume of the body.
Volume of object=1000 m³
