The bulk modulus of the body is 2 x 10^8 Nm^-2

Given:

Pressure on the body = 4 x 10^4 Nm^-2

Volume of body = 10^-3 m^3

Change in Volume = 0.2 x 10^-6 m^3

To find:

Bulk modulus, B

Solution:

b = p \div ( \frac{Δv}{v} )

= 4 x 10^4/ (0.2 x 10^-6/10^-3)

= 4 x 10^4 x 10^-3/ 0.2 x 10^-6

= 4 x 10^7/0.2

= 2 x 10^8

Hence, the bulk modulus of the object is 2 x 10^8 Nm^-2
