when a body is projected with a velocity greater than orbital velocity and less than escape velocity how does it move

Say the body is projected so as to make it go around in a orbit of radius ‘r’.

Now,if the body is projected with a higher velocity but less than that required to escape it,then it will orbit earth in a radius more than ‘r’.
