when a bubble of air rises through a column of water placed in strong,diffuse light the bulb appears shining.why ?​

◆ Explanation -

When a bubble of air is rising through water, the light reaching our eyes have to cross actually two barriers - water to air and air to water. Speed of light in air (rarer medium) and water (denser medium) are quite different. When light incides on air bubble at more than critical angle, light gets reflected back. This occurs multiple times called as total internal reflection. That's why we get that appearance of shine through air bubble.
