There is no force acting on it so we can apply conservative of momentum here .

20=1000×m
m=20/1000=0.02kg.

The mass of the bullet is 0.02 kg.

Explanation:

Given that,

Momentum of the bullet when it is fired from a rifle is 20 kg-m/s. The velocity of the bullet is 1000 m/s.

To find,

Mass of the bullet.

Solution,

Momentum of an object is given by :

p = mv

m is the mass of the object

v is the speed of object

m=\dfrac{p}{v}

m=\dfrac{20\ kg-m/s}{1000\ m/s}

m = 0.02 kg

So, the mass of the bullet is 0.02 kg.
