When a bullet of mass 5 g is fired, the impulse on it is 200 ns. If mass of the gun is 10 kg, then the recoil velocity of the gun is?

We have,
m= mass of bullet
v = velocity of bullet
M= Mass of Gun
V = Velocity of Gun.

Impulse on Bullet,I= mv-0 ..... (1)

We know,
By Conservation of momemtum as initial momemtum is 0.

0= mv +MV
v= -mv/M
v= -200/10
= - 20m/s
