Given:-

•Initial velocity(u)=10m/s

•Final velocity(v)=0 (as it finally comes to rest)

•Time(t)=20s

To find:-

•Retardation

Solution:-

By,using the 1st equation of motion,we get:-

=>v=u+at

=>0=10+a×20

=>-10=20a

=>a= -10/20

=>a= -1/2

=> a= -0.5m/s²

____________________________

Since,we can see here that acceleration is negative,so retardation must be positive.

So,retardation is +0.5m/s².
