Correct Question !!

When a car driver travelling at the speed of 10m/s applies brakes and bring car to rest in 20,s then the acceleration will be?

GIVEN:-

  • Initial velocity,u = 10m/s

  • Final velocity ,v = 0m/s

  • Time taken ,t = 20s

To Find:-

  • Acceleration of the car,a

Solution:-

By using 1st equation of motion

• v = u+at

Substitute the value we get

→ 0 = 10 + a×20

→ -10 = a×20

→ a = -10/20

→ a = -1/2

→ a = -0.5m/s

Here Negative sign show retardation

Therefore ,the acceleration of the car is 0.5m/.
