THE DUST PARTICLES LYING ON THE CARPET IS IN REST. WHEN THE CARPET IS BEATEN WITH THE  STICK THE DUST PARTICLES ON THE FUR WILL BE IN REST AND THE CARPET WILL BE IN MOTION DUE TO INERTIA OF REST AND HENCE THE DUST PARTICLES COMES OUT.

When carpet is beaten, the dust particles lying on the carpet possess inertia of rest . when the carpet beaten, dust particles resists the change in state and fall down....
