hey mate here is ur answer......

When a hanging carpet is beaten with a stick, the dust particles are removed from it because the carpet on beating suddenly moves forward and the dust particles due to inertia of rest continue to remain at rest. Hence the dust particles fall down and the carpet gets cleaned.

WHY CAN DUST BE REMOVED FROM A CARPET BY SHAKING IT,OR BY BEATING IT WITH A STICK........ because when we shake a carpet it suddenly comes into motion but the dust particle can't suddenly come into motion so they remain suspended in the air.

HOPE IT HELPS ☺️
