Cell reproduction is the process of cell division. Here the cell divides and proliferates. The Cell reproduction can either be carried out by Mitosis(Somatic cells) and Meiosis(Gametes). During the cell division, the DNA present in the nucleus of the cell is replicated to ensure that the daughter cell receives an equal amount of DNA with respect to the parent DNA. However, in meiosis, the number of chromosomes in the nucleus is halved.
The replication of DNA occurs during the S-phase of the Interphase.
