When a certain gas is heated,ts volume increases by 50% and pressure decreases to 75% of its original value .If its original temperature was -15degree C,find the temperature.

Let the initial pressure and volume be P1 and V1 respectively.

Hence, Final pressure P2 = P1 *(1 - 0.6)

(P1*V1)/(P2*V2) = (T1/T2)

Assuming the gas to be an ideal gas,

Initial temperature T1 = -15 °C = 258 K.

And final volume V2 = V1 *(1 + 0.5)

Hence T2 = T1 * (P2*V2)/(P1*V1)
