A city is said to be metropolitan when it is a densely populated urbanized city that is well connected to the different areas. In simpler terms, a metropolitan city is a central city is an area that has a minimum population of fifty thousand or more. Metropolitan cities are Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.
