  • We know that ,

              Work efficiency ∝ 1/Time taken .

So ,

Ratio of time taken to complete work .

A : B  = 1/(1/3) : 1/(1/4) = 3 : 4.

B : C  = 1/(1/5) : 1/(1/2) = 5 : 2 .

So  A : B : C = 15 : 20 : 8.

Let be A , B  and C completed that work in 15 x , 20 x and 8 x Hrs respectively.

A/Q, 15 x = 20

⇒ x = 20/15

∴ x = 4/3.

  • C complete that work in = 4/3 x 8 = 32/3 = 10 2/3 hrs.
