When a copper wire was left in silver nitrate solution for sometime it was observed that the solution turned bluish green.Explain the observation?

☆ Copper is come befor silver in the oxidation series,

☆ so copper take place of silver cations in its solution and oxidized , ☆ its form anhydrous copper nitrate which is bluish green colour

Cu + 2 AgNO3=> Cu(NO3)2 + 2 Ag

☆ silver cations reduced into silver
