When a crystal of copper sulphate is placed at the bottom of a beaker containing water , the water slowly turns blue . Why ?

When the crystals of copper sulphate is placed in the bottom of beaker containing water, the water slowly turns blue due to diffusion of copper sulphate crystals in water. the particles of water are in random motion, and when crystals are placed in water the molecules of water dissolve it throughout the liquid.
