Clock rule: When we face the coil and current flows clockwise then that end will act as south pole and another end as north pole.

If current flows in anticlockwise then one end forward observes will be north pole and other south pole.

So by using this rule or the Right Hand Thumb rule... you can find the direction of magnetic field easily.
