The answer to the question is point a- only electrons move

satyam264: but here in above class 10 ... we hv to choose ans (d) bcos its a fact that in metallic wires Ions are also responsible for conduction
AFridiiiKhaaannn: okay
satyam264: e.g. in chemistry we hv studied in electrochemistry e.g. daniel cell the current is flow bcos of both electron and positive ions
AFridiiiKhaaannn: so optn d right?
satyam264: yeah
satyam264: afridi u can take refrence of my answer
satyam264: afridi ??
satyam264: now ur doubt is clear or not ??
AFridiiiKhaaannn: yeah okay
satyam264: ok gr8 ...

Metal can condjct electricity bcos they have free charge carrier and free ions both
e.g.1) in metallic conductance
charge carriers are electrons .. here no transfer of matter takes place .. only free electrons moves
2) in electrolytic conductance charge carriers are free ions .. here transfer of matter takes place ... e.g.Na+ ,Cl-

so option d is ri8
Hope it helps!

AFridiiiKhaaannn: so which optn
satyam264: option d) is 100% correct
