Hi.
Possible outcomes when a dice is thrown = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
Total Number of outcomes = 6
Favourable Outcomes (Prime Numbers) = 2, 3, 5
Number of Favourable outcomes = 3
Probability of getting a prime number (P) = 3/6 = 1/2
Probability of Not getting a prime number = 1 - P = 1 - 1/2 = (2 - 1)/2 = 1/2
Therefore, Probability of not getting a prime number = 1/2
Hope it helps.

If the dice is thrown , the possible outcomes :
1,2,3,4,5,6
Non prime numbers : 1,4,6 [1 is neither prime nor composite] = 3 in counting
Total Outcomes = 6
Then , the probability of getting non prime [P] =
Number of Non Prime Numbers / Total Outcomes = 3/6 = 1/2 .
Hence the probability is 1/2 .
