Answer:

As per my understanding you are asking probability of number less than or equal to five. There are five possibilities that you get a number less or equal to 5 (i.e 1,2,3,4 and 5).

Probability of getting a number less than or equal to five when a fair dice is rolled have five possibilities:

Total number of digits on a dice=6

Probability of getting 1= 1/6

Probability of getting 2= 1/6

Probability of getting 3= 1/6

Probability of getting 4= 1/6

Probability of getting 5= 1/6

Overall probability getting 1,2,3, and 4 (excluding 5 and 6) will be:

(1/6)+(1/6)+(1/6)+(1/6)+(1/6)=(5/6)

=(5/6)

Hope you understand

Answer

The number must not be greater than 5

So, the possible outcomes = 1,2,3,4,5

Number of possible outcomes = 5

( we will include five beacuse according to the question the number must not be greater than 5 but it can be 5 )

Total outcomes = 6

Probability = Possible outcomes/Total number of outcomes.

Probability = 5/6
