Answer: As Dettol particles are very small in size there is more space in between them. This allows the Dettol particles to mix with water evenly.
This is the reason that in spite of repeated dilution the smell of Dettol remains in the solution and can be smelt.
This proves that only a small amount of solute dissolves in the particles that are too small.
Therefore adding more solute diffuses the air and the smell can be detected.
