When a fast moving bus negotiate a curve on the road, then passengers fall away from the centre of the curved road. Why?

Inertia of direction is the property of a body due to which it maintains or tends to maintain its direction of motion. Due to this property, when a bus takes a turn, passengers are thrown away from the centre of the curved path because the passengers tend to maintain their original direction.
