Y component is 0 because the force is acting along x-axis

Answer: The component of force acting along y axis will be 0.

Explanation:

As force is a vector quantity so it is direction dependent.

To understand from a basic level imagine a xy plane with coordinate axes , as x and y axes are perpendicular to each other so we could not find any x coordinate on y axis other than 0 so the x coordinate of y axis will be 0 and vice versa . Same is the case with the question since force is in x direction and y axis is perpendicular to it thus we cannot find any component of it in y direction thus its coordinate will be 0
