when a fruit ripe it changes its colour.eg red. why.

The colour of fruits change when they are ripen due to the break down of chlorophyll into hydrolase enzyme.This newly formed pigment gives the fruit its significant colour. The colours also attract the birds and animals to help the plant in seed dispersion.
