When a greased iron needle is placed gently on the surface of water at rest, it floats on the surface of water. Why? ​

ANSWER - :

✔ If we gently place a greased iron needle on the surface of the water at rest then the needle floats on the surface , inspite of the fact that iron is denser than water .

✔This happens because the needle depresses the surface of the water a little.
