When a haemoglobin can bind with 4 oxygen why is HbO2 oxyhaemoglobin instead of HbO4??

The hemoglobin molecule has four binding sites for oxygen molecules: the iron atoms in the four heme groups. Thus, each Hb tetramer can bind four oxygen molecules. From the molecular weight of Hb, one can calculate that 1 g of Hb can combine with 1.39 ml of oxygen.
The UHMS defines hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) as an intervention in which an individual breathes near 100% oxygen intermittently while inside a hyperbaric chamber that is pressurized to greater than sea level pressure (1 atmosphere absolute, or ATA).
