When a hanging carpet is beaten with stick ,the dust particles start coming out of it because of the property of matter known as LAW OF INERTIA.This law is also known as NEWTON'S FIRST LAW IF MOTION. Every matter at rest will remain at rest and every matter at motion will also remain in motion UNLESS ANY EXTERNAL FORCE IS APPLIED ON IT.
