When a high resistance voltmeter is connected across a resistor its reading is 2 V. An electric

bell is sending the current of 0.4 A in the electric circuit in which a rheostat is also connected to

vary the current

( i) Draw an equivalent labelled circuit for the given data

(ii) Find the resistance of the resistor

(iii) Name and state the law applicable in the given case.

(iv) A graph is drawn between set if values of potential difference V and current flowing

through it. Show the nature of the graph obtained.

(v) State two differences between an ammeter and a voltmeter

Explanation:

ii) V = IR

R = V/I

R = 2V/ 0.4 A

R = 5 Ohm
