The air you take into your lungs is 21%oxygen and 79% nitrogen (rounding up), with other gases in concentrations of <1%. Nitrogen may take up a large proportion of the air we breathe in but it is extremely inert when we breathe in which is in the form of N2.

Ans ⏩ Actually We breathe them both,

gases in the air. The air you take into your lungs is 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen with other gases in concentrations of 1%. Nitrogen may take up a large proportion of the air we breathe in but it is extremely inert when we breathe in which is in the form of N2.

and We take up oxygen preferentially because we have hemoglobin to bind O2. When hemoglobin binds the oxygen, it upsets the balance and pulls more oxygen across the alveolar membrane. This is aided by pulmonary circulation which carries the blood away.

Hope this helps you buddy ☺️☺️⭐⭐❤️❤️✌️✌️✅✅✅✅✅
