when a metal X undergoes electrolytic decomposition a metal Y is formed which kept in kerosene and a gas is formed which is a product of chloralkali. Determine X the metal and Y the gas.

Here in this question. When NaCl undergoes electrolytic reduction, we get metal Sodium (Na) which is stored in kerosene as it reacts vigorously with air and water and along with Chlorine gas (Cl2) which is a product of the Chlor alkali process
