Answer:

Let x a number.

Property of the modulus operator says that, for two integers a and b, on taking modulus with N.

(a*b)%N = ( (a%N) * (b%N) )%N ……………………………………………….. (1)

In given question, we have

x%5 = 3 ………………………………………………………………………………………..(2)

We need to find (x*x)%5

By equation (1)

(x*x)%5 = ( (x%5) * (x%5) )%5

= (3 * 3)%5

=9%5

=4
