For such type of questions, it is better if we solve them with an example.

So, lets take the number to be, say 26.

26/7 => Quotient = 3, remainder = 5

now, square of 26 = 676

dividing 676 by 7, we get:

Quotient = 96, remainder = 4

now, lets take another example, 12.

square of 12 = 144.

144/7 => quotient = 20, remainder = 4

hence it is proved that by dividing the square of that no. by 7, we get 4 as remainder.

Hope it helped!

Answer:

4

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no. be a and it is divided by 7

then a=7q+5

now the square of that no.

a^2=(7q+5)^2

=49q^2+25+70q

=49q^2+70q+21+4

=7 (7q^2+10q+3)+4

=7m+4

( where m=7q^2+10q+3)

hence,the remainder will be 4
