When a number is doubled and the result is increased by 6, the answer is 20. find the number?

Let the no. be x
2x+6=20
x=7

Let the number =x
If it is doubled then it will be =2x and it is increased by 6, and result=20,

so the equation will be :
=2x+6=20
=2x=20-6
=2x=14
=x=14/2
=7
So x=7
